About the role

For this particular role, we are looking for someone who is truly passionate about a career in Transport. We are looking for experienced energetic and enthusiastic team members for our morning and afternoon shifts. The main responsibilities are unloading/loading/freight checking for our local and interstate linehaul vehicles at our Prestons depot. The role requires people to be agile, adaptive and be able to work in a fast paced environment with safety in mind at all times. If successful this role will open future opportunities within Mainfreight. We value individuality, personality and energy. A willingness to learn is a must, as is excellent personal presentation, punctuality and attention to detail. The right person will have a strong internal drive to succeed, showing initiative to develop their knowledge. Being a team player is paramount!

This role will be based in our Sydney Prestons branch, the role will be specific to local, regional, and interstate road transport.

• Hands on, structured and supported training
• Learning functions and systems that make national transport effective while maintaining efficiency
• Exposure to the wider supply chain industry, including warehousing, international forwarding and local cartage
• Attendance to internal training
• Load restraint
• General housekeeping duties

Skills & experience

• Experience in loading/unloading interstate/PUD trucks
• Must hold current Forklift licence
• Ability to sort freight by state and postcode
• Ability to make educated decisions in a fast paced environment
• You are team focused and dedicated
• Must have “can do attitude”
