Wake up

Pilates class or gym for 45 mins
7.00 AM
Get back home and prepare for the day – shower, breakfast, pack my bag etc.
8:30 AM
Leave home to drive to site, currently in Preston most of the time.
9.00 AM
Sign in at the site shed, say good morning to the builders, collect my defect stickers and head over to the stage of works near completion, currently townhouses. I am often accompanied by our Project Manager and the architect will usually be floating around as well doing the same.
12.00 PM
Head back to the site shed and have a casual chat to the Site Foreman or Project Manager about quality and any consistent issues arising.
12.30 PM
Drive back to the office on St Kilda Road and grab some lunch, usually a sandwich from the popular café downstairs.
1.30 PM
Back at my desk to check through the defects I have just logged onto Aconex and do any other admin tasks to prepare for the afternoon. I have usually got a fair few unread emails from not checking my phone much in the morning.
Often the afternoon will have internal meetings about other pieces of work, there may be one or two that usually go for 30 minutes to an hour. Topics may include potential builders to tender to on another job, review of drawings, a design meeting with the builder and architects, or a general catch up with a more senior Project Manager within our team if they have not been on site with me in the morning.
5.00 PM
Dash out of the office and quickly get changed so I’m not too late to training. I do athletics and fortunately my group often meets at The Tan or Lakeside Stadium for a track session so I just jog over.
7.30 PM
Get home and start the evening routine, shower, cook dinner and spend the rest of the night flopped on the couch.
