Groundsperson Sportsfield

  • Salary $53,239.16 - $61,740.64 p/a + super
  • Open Space turf maintenance experience required
  • 38 hours per week/9 day fortnight


Located 16 kms north of the Sydney CBD, the Ku-ring-gai area covers 84km2, is home to 127,000 residents and is set in one of New South Wales' most attractive natural environments.

Council is currently seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals for the role of Groundsperson to join the Sportsfield Maintenance Team. This is a great opportunity for a hands-on person who possesses the ability to work collaboratively in a team while ensuring safe, yet efficient operational standards on a daily basis.

Reporting to the Team Leader Sportsfield, your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Weed control and turf maintenance
  • Small tree pruning and removal
  • Rubbish removal and litter pickup
  • Park and sportsfield maintenance


Required experience & skills:

  • Experience in horticultural or turf maintenance
  • Experience in the operation of tractors and tractor implements
  • Experience in line marking sportsfields
  • Knowledge of the safe handling of herbicides

Also required (or a willingness to undertake training to obtain):

  • First Aid Certificate
  • Chemsmart/Smarttrain
  • WHS Construction Induction Certificate (White Card)
  • MR Licence
