About Children's Services

Inner West Council operates 11 Long Day Care Centres, 3 Out of School Hours Care, an Occasional Care service, a Pre-School and a Family Day Care network. We currently have multiple vacancies for Certificate III Qualified Early Childhood Educators to join our professional and friendly Children's Services team.

About the Role

As a Certificate III Qualified Early Childhood Educator you will be responsible for assisting the Co-ordinator in the day to day running of the service and for overseeing the planning, programming and implementation of a caring, safe and stimulating learning environment for the children. You will contribute to developing quality partnerships with children, families, colleagues and the wider community.

Remuneration

  • $53,007 to $61,789 per annum ($1019 - $1188 per week); ($29.13 - $33.95 per hour)
  • + 10% Superannuation

Note: Above annual and weekly rate will be pro-rated for part-time employees.

Some of the required skills, experience and qualifications:

  • Certificate III in Children's Services (CHC30402 or equivalent)
  • Experience with and/or willingness to be an active and collaborative educator with children aged 6 weeks to 6 years, including sound working knowledge of child development, positive behaviour guidance techniques and strategies for children.

Proven ability to apply knowledge and evidence of the following:

a. Current NSW Working with Children Check clearance

b. Hold Identify and Respond to Children at Risk of Harm Statement of Attainment or willingness to undertake the course

c. Child Protection and Mandatory Reporters requirements and guidelines or willingness to learn

d. Hold current First Aid Certificate including emergency management of asthma and anaphylaxis, or willingness to undertake the course

  • Proof of work rights in Australia (e.g. copy of Passport or Birth Certificate etc)
  • Certificate III in Children's Services (CHC30402 or equivalent)
  • Identify and Respond to Children at Risk of Harm Statement of Attainment or willingness to undertake the course
  • Child Protection and Mandatory Reporters requirements and guidelines
  • Current First Aid Certificate including emergency management of asthma and anaphylaxis, or willingness to undertake the course
