What you’ll be doing…

You will complete a Certificate III in Marine Craft Construction over 48 months through a combination of formal training with a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and practical on-the-job experience with the Host Employer.

Throughout your formal training and practical experience in the workplace, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Assist with general boat building and maintenance tasks
  • Painting, grinding and assembly work
  • Woodwork and panelling fit outs
  • Repairs of boats and ferry vessels
  • Operate machinery and equipment to carry out duties

What you’ll bring to the table…

To be successful in this role, you’ll need to meet the following selection criteria:

  • Be committed to your formal and ‘on the job' training
  • A keen interest in the boat-building trade
  • A can-do attitude and willingness to learn
  • Ability to work safely and follow instructions
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask
  • Basic computer literacy skills
  • Be able to learn new concepts and systems quickly
  • Ability to follow written instructions and procedures
  • Current driver’s licence (P1 or above)
