Established in 1999, beginning with a single store in Toronto NSW, today we are a network of 36 locations with a team of over 160 travel professionals across Australia.

Junior Travel Advisor

We are looking for passionate individuals to join our team as Junior Travel Advisors based in Newcastle, NSW. We want team players who can confidently engage with new and existing customers.

Reporting to the team leader and sales managers you will work closely within your team to deliver best in class service, promoting our exciting and exclusive holidays. Attention to detail and creative flair will help you succeed in this fast-paced team.
 

Objectives 

  • Work to achieve the travel branch and personal targets
  • Maximise each sale, where possible using preferred partners
  • Maximise use of IT/CRS Systems including on-line booking tools
  • Complete administrative and office tasks in a timely & efficient manner


Key responsibilities

  • Follow the Travel Sales Process to achieve a FAB outcome 
  • Maximise sales of HTG preferred partners and the helloworld preferred partners list.
  • Review weekly/monthly sales figures against personal budget.
  • Maximise each sale by upselling/onselling
  • Maximise use of IT/CRS Systems including on-line booking tools
  • Always ensure travel insurance & service fees are included with each sales transaction.
  • Practice open communication within the travel centre.
  • Ensure all client files are balanced to nil prior to handing out of customer documents.
  • Adhere to, correct accounting and administrative procedures and comply with company policies including Code of Conduct, Code of Ethics and Internet & Email Policy.
  • Regularly update product knowledge.
  • Take an active interest in the marketing/promotions of the travel centre and attend consumer information evenings.
  • Attend when possible, training and product seminars.
  • Attend monthly Regional Meetings and Weekly Team Meetings
  • Attend Cruise Sale Day and Holiday and Cruise Expo 
  • Ensure personal appearance and that of the travel centre, always reflect a professional image.
  • Relieve at travel centres where required including Saturdays
  • Complete daily/weekly/fortnightly/monthly administration and office tasks as per roster in a timely and efficient manner.

Skills and experience

  • Excellent standard or written English.
  • Strong communication skills with a passion to achieve goals
  • Understanding of the importance of brand guidelines and data compliance.
  • Manages priorities and multiple deadlines.
  • Passion for travel, cruise and unique holiday experiences.

Normally business hours are from 09:00 – 17:00, with some branches trading 7 days per week. There will be a requirement from time to time to work outside of business hours, including attending training and product updates, occasional travel and weekends.
