The opportunity
This role is an integral part of the hospital as it assists nursing and other clinical staff in the care of patients related to activities of daily living, positioning of patients, transporting of patients, equipment and furniture, spot cleaning and other ward and department requirements.

Essential Requirements
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team across a 24-hour customer-focused service and willing to work across the campus and rotated through other wards and departments.
- Knowledge & understanding of cleaning procedures and agents by commercial cleaning practices and infection control
- Developed interpersonal and communication skills and commitment to providing excellent customer service.
- Demonstrate levels of accuracy and attention to detail with the ability to conform to the principles of confidentiality and patient care.
Key Accountabilities
- Assist with the provision of lifting/moving of patients, personal care and hygiene of patients.
- Perform cleaning duties as rostered by commercial cleaning practices, policy and procedure, including terminal cleans and removal of soiled linen to ensure infection control and quality standards are met.
- Maintain all cleaning equipment and stores, including checking and replacing ward oxygen cylinders to ensure adequate and safe equipment is available.
- Transport deceased patients in a discrete caring manner and assist with the preparation of the deceased patient for viewing.
- Remove waste by waste management policies and procedures including sharps containers.
- Maintain patient and staff confidentiality and perform all reasonable tasks delegated within award provisions and in line with your role and position.
