Your role

The Hatch Vacation Student Program provides the opportunity to work on real projects and gain practical industry skills. They will help you through the transition, bridging the gap between your education and career. Hatch is a team that makes a difference and is having an enormous impact in solving complex industrial problems and delivering valuable and productive outcomes to global clients.

As part of the Digital team, you will work within project teams assisting in the development and provision of modern systems, applications and solutions to support clients on their path towards digital modernization. The work you will be involved with will generally be focused on the mining industry enabling integrated operations, using advanced analytics and artificial intelligence to create digital twins that provide real-time decision support to operations aimed at optimizing asset efficiency. The work may also include the development, testing and deployment of autonomous industrial machinery, vehicles or equipment. Their strength is in their technical digital know-how combined with their engineering capability surrounded by a supportive team environment.

The Professional Development Program

As a Vacation Student with Hatch, you will build professional relationships with renowned experts, and champion great initiatives for reputable, well-known clients. You will belong to a company that fosters career growth, encourages continuous improvement and is pioneering. The 12-week program commences on Monday, 18 Nov 2024. During this time Hatch will have its annual office closure from COB Friday, 20 December 2024 and will reopen Monday, 6 January 2025.

About you

Qualifications:

  • You will have (or be working towards) a bachelor's/master's degree in engineering (Electrical, Electronic, Computer Science, Mechatronics, Chemical), ideally in your penultimate year of study Interested in applying control-based software programming to real-world physical environments
  • Successful candidates will also have excellent interpersonal skills and a strong passion for working closely in a team environment to solve complex problems
  • You will also have an interest in exploring a future with a global consulting company and are committed to creating positive change
