This is a casual position, starting term one 2022. 1-2 days a week during the school term (as per NSW Education Department timetable). Hours 8.30 am – 2.00 pm depending on our timetable. There is some flexibility to discuss a different day.
You will be working with babies and children in classes as follows:
- Non-mobile babies from 6wks of age
- Mobile babies
- 12- 18mths
- 18mths - 2yrs
- 2-2.5yrs
- 2.5 - 3yrs
- 3-5 yrs.
As a GymbaROO teacher, you will be teaching all of these age groups and their appropriate programs. The parents are doing the activities with their child and are guided by you, the teacher.
Main Duties/Responsibilities:
- Arrive at least 15 minutes prior to first class starting.
- Welcome all families at the beginning of every session and to start all sessions at the appointed time.
- Maintain a high standard of program delivery. Run the class smoothly and in line with the program – music ready, class overview prepared familiarity with activities and exercises gained prior to the class.
- Build a knowledge base of the neurological relevance to each aspect of the curriculum and be able to introduce this to the parents throughout the class.
- Ensure that the centre and equipment are in order, clean and SAFE throughout the day.
- Where an accident occurs, take appropriate actions and report the incident as soon as possible to the Manager / Franchisee.
- Attend all GymbaROO-KindyROO group staff meetings and in-service sessions.
- Instil a fun atmosphere during class time so that the children and their parents/carers enjoy themselves. A happy relationship between parents and staff must always be present.
- Be alert for children with Developmental difficulties and report these children to the Franchisee/Manager for assistance and guidance. Be aware that 'GymbaROO-KindyROO' is not a medical centre. All medical problems should be referred to the Franchisee who then, after assessment, refers the child to a Medical practitioner after consultation with Head Office or the Master Franchisee.
- Assist parents and children as required.
- Pack up small equipment used during the day.
