Working Hours at GHD

Standard 9-5:30 is manageable. Can leave earlier/later depending on when I arrive.

as long as you work your required hours management doesn't mind if you start early or start later in the day

We are expected to work 40-hour weeks every week. However, it is very flexible when/where we complete these hours.

The WFH-office balance is good, I appreciate the opportunity to work from home a few days a week - it makes popping to the doctors on a lunch break possible, and also helps me when I need to recharge my social batteries. As a neurodivergent person, the opportunity to WFH and 'body double' with my partner when I know I'm struggling with energy/difficult tasks is very helpful, and I appreciate the freedom to manage that myself and WFH when I need to. I do like to come into the office as much as possible generally, as I find it really valuable to talk to people in person and I enjoy the social aspect of being in the office, and I think it would be nice to have a 'team day' or something where most of the team comes into the office so we can meet each other in person. From a general hours perspective, I find the 40h work week very difficult to make it through, and have considered asking to reduce hours but haven't so I don't know how flexible GHD would be with this. I know it's pretty standard, but 8-5 every weekday is very draining and I feel like the weekend is just not enough time to recharge for the next week let alone address other commitments, and quite a few people on the team are working more than that at the moment because of the intense team workload which is putting out a lot of pressure.

I work 2 days at home and 3 days in the office which I think is the perfect balance

Feeling a lack of work life balance. The option has not yet been discussed but if the option for a 7am-3pm work week was available, I would feel like i can do more of the things i enjoy.

Working with time-sheets can make for longer hours when you are unsure of the tasks you are completing. I find that I am often spending longer in the office than I should be because I am not meeting the target of 40 hours if I take short wellbeing breaks regularly throughout the days as these can't be charged to anything in particular.

GHD encourages us to come into the office whenever possible but there is a good amount of flexibility to work from home. If I have personal commitments such as an appointment, it's never been an issue to leave work for a few hours and either make up that time later in the day or take a partial day of personal leave.

Would like to work 7.5hr days rather than 8hr.

GHD is a little flexible with hours. You must work around 8 hours a day but it is possible to leave work or come late as long as you make up the hours and mention to your manager.

The hours are very flexible which is amazing

Flexible in that I can pick my start and end times when in the office. Fieldwork is generally longer, with some leads consciously stopping at 10 and some expecting longer hours.

We are expected to work 8 to 5, 5 days a week. It is somewhat flexible if we work 9 hours one day to then work 7 the next. However, spending 45 hours a week at the office can make work-life balance difficult to achieve.

Long hours are occasionally necessary, but I don't mind this and I see it as a necessary part of the interesting work that I do.

Work hours aren't set and are flexible. As long as you work your set hours a week, it is great.

My work hours every day vary - it is really dependent on how much work I have. Sometimes I have so much that I am in the office until 9pm and sometimes I dont have enough so I am finishing early and not knowing what to do.

I start before 8 and typically wrap up around 5. Sometimes there are very, very long days - but a formalised time off in lieu has been piloted recently. I take a half an hour lunch break. As long as you do your eight hours and are reachable to your team - they are flexible. Timesheets are a must.

I think work hours are good - we can do hybrid work. They are understanding of issues that may come up
