Your role

The IMT Service Desk graduate will support the Information Management Technology team to deliver activities of the Council through the provision of Technology support across the Council in a proactive and customer-focused manner. This is a temporary, full-time position with 35 hours per week.

This role will gain experience in the efficient and accurate resolution of incidents raised in the helpdesk within agreed time frames and service levels while attending to service desk enquiries with a strong customer-focused approach. You will also assist with the installation, support, and maintenance of IMT applications, hardware and infrastructure in line with the ITIL service management framework.

Compensation & benefits

The graduate role is given a salary ranging from AUD 58,048.15 to AUD 67,255.96 per annum plus 11% superannuation. Aside from this, you will also be given the following benefits:

About you

Successful candidates will have:

  • Enrolled in a Degree in Information Technology (or related field) or recently completed a Degree in Information Technology (or related field)
  • Ability to deliver high-quality customer service to agreed service levels and standards
  • Ability to understand and learn technical terms and processes associated with Information Technology operations
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and use electronic business applications
  • Demonstrated time management skills
  • Flexibility to work as part of a roster to carry out duties on the Help Desk counter, call centre, IT service management (ITSM) system, and administration throughout the day and across the week to meet operational requirements
  • Capacity to swiftly acquire new skills and adjust to evolving technology needs, particularly in the context of help desk support
