The work will allow the resurgence of vital native species of flora and fauna, ensuring sustainable habitats and the longevity of these species.

As an organisation, FOGA is a not-for-profit built with a team of bush regeneration professionals who all share a deep passion for the work we do. We have worked on unceded Gadigal land (Sydney) for more than 5 years now, building grassroots connections with local communities, councils, parliament members etc. and engaging in restorative work in important ecological zones.

The volunteering days that we conduct occur from 9 am to 1 pm and consist of up-to-date education from industry professionals, hand weeding and planting. Following the day's work, morning tea is provided to all volunteers and is a great opportunity to get to know likeminded individuals. Additional work may include habitat construction for fauna and other bush regeneration practices as required.

Experience within the field is great but are more than happy to educate enthusiastic and like-minded individuals. If you do have experience with bush regeneration or environmental studies or something you believe is relevant, send through your resume for us to have a read-over. We aren’t looking for any specific skills but due to the physical nature of the work, we do ask that you feel confident on uneven surfaces, operating basic tools and repeated standing and sitting.

The volunteers we work with are an integral part of our team and we are hugely appreciative of their consistent efforts. At FOGA, we believe in community spirit and the power of collective knowledge so members always love sharing their insights of working in the industry and are always looking to train and pass on their knowledge.

We share a mentality of "Think Globally, Act Locally." As a result, the restoration work we do benefits everyone around us and ensures we are able to pass on the beautiful natural landscape to our future generations as well as future generations of native flora and fauna.
