A Role With Us

As an Early Childhood Teacher / Educator, you will contribute to the delivery of an innovative, high-quality and inclusive early childhood curriculum that is reflective of current pedagogical theory, practice and the Explore & Develop Freshwater values to ensure positive outcomes and opportunities for the children of our service.

You will co-educate alongside a team of experienced and qualified Educators / Teachers and have the ability to work consistently in partnership with others to support children in their early years.

You will be supported by a highly experienced Leadership Team and have the opportunity to join a stable team of experienced & passionate early childhood professionals.

With over 20 years of experience within the Early Childhood Education and Care sector, and a mother to four children, Owner-Operator, Sally, truly understands the needs of families whilst being able to understand and support the needs of staff & educators in providing the highest level of education and care for children throughout their early years.

Our team of educators exceed the National Quality Framework in qualifications and educator-to-child ratios with an extra educator employed in each room daily as well as support staff.

We highly value our ability to provide our team with ongoing professional development opportunities to enrich their knowledge and expertise, keep abreast of current research and practice, resulting in long-term career growth.

Our Service

Explore & Develop Freshwater is located in Freshwater as part of the Harbord Diggers Precinct, nestled on the headland between Freshwater Beach and South Curl Curl Beach, with ample outdoor natural spaces and endless opportunities to head beyond the gate.

Explore & Develop Freshwater offers two separate levels each with its own architecturally designed playscapes;

  • Lilli Pilli Nursery Room: 8 Children : 3 Educators/Teachers
  • Wattle Infant Room: 12 Children: 4 Educators/Teachers
  • Saltbush Toddler Room: 15 Children: 4 Educators/Teachers
  • Tuckeroo Toddler Room: 15 Children: 4 Educators/Teachers
  • Banksia Preschool Room: 20 Children : 3 Educators/Teachers
  • Waratah Preschool Room: 20 Children : 3 Educators/Teachers

Considering a role with us? Here's what you'll need to apply:

  • Have a genuine interest in being a co-learner alongside children, colleagues and families to design, implement and reflect on learning and development in the early years.
  • Be an Early Childhood Teacher / Diploma or Certificate lll Qualified Educator (ACECQA approved)
  • Hold a current Working with Children Check (NSW)
  • Have a sound understanding of the National Quality Standards & Early Years Learning Framework (or desire to learn)
  • Current Senior First Aid Certificate + Asthma & Anaphylaxis certificates
  • Excellent relationship-building skills
  • Understanding of Child Protection legislation, including an approved & current Child Protection Training qualification or willingness to complete
  • Understanding of the development of children, their health, hygiene, and nutritional needs in line with the National Quality Framework and age-appropriate Developmental Milestones.
