THE OPPORTUNITY

This challenging and diverse role is responsible for the supervision of the treatment plant team, ensuring the efficient treatment and disposal of Waste Water to EPA licence conditions and enabling the provision of high-quality treatment and disposal to ensure the protection of the environment for the Dubbo Community.

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO

  • Supervise the maintenance and operation of the wastewater treatment assets in accordance with Council's policies and procedures;
  • Operate a computer-based supervisory control and data acquisition SCADA/telemetry system, servicing wastewater systems;
  • Ensure provision of a 24-hour emergency response to address faults and failures for treatment plants and pumping stations; and
  • Maintain high-quality treatment and disposal of wastewater by reliable operation of treatment plants, pumping stations and the laboratory.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED

  • Certificate III Water Operations;
  • Certificate IV Water Operations (Treatment) or the ability to obtain within 2 years of employment in the position;
  • Solid experience in Supervision of water or wastewater treatment plants including staff;
  • Demonstrates competency in computer operation and data entry;
  • Experience in telemetry operations; and
  • Class C Drivers Licence.

Work experience
