Role Description

We are seeking a motivated individual to join our dynamic team as an Apprentice/ Junior Draftsperson. As our new Apprentice / Junior Draftsperson, you'll be a vital part of the Bridge and Civil Structures Team. While the principal role is bridge drafting, our business also delivers project in other disciplines such as architecture and construction giving you a unique opportunity to expand your skills and knowledge.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Produce technical drawings and 3D models based on sketches, specifications and calculations from engineers, surveyor and architects/designers.
  • Operating CAD systems such as; Revit, AutoCAD, Civil 3D and others to produce accurate models and drawings.
  • Collaborate within a team environment, ensuring effective communication with engineers, contractors and colleagues.
  • Maintain high standards of work, attention to detail, and efficiently meet project deadlines.
  • Assist with varied administration and documentation and business related duties.
  • Attend and successfully complete a relevant TAFE or related course.
  • Learn to interpret architectural, civil and structural engineering drawings.
  • Compliance with design drawing requirements and with all industry standards and protocols.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Completion of high school to Year 12
  • Enrolled in or willingness to pursue studies in structural/civil drafting or related courses.
  • Commitment to long-term career goals and completion of the apprenticeship (4 years)
  • Proactive, goal-oriented, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong motivation, proactive attitude, and ability to work under supervision or independently.
  • Hands-on experience or familiarity with CAD systems is advantageous not essential.
  • A driver's license.
  • Must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
