Position Description

Here's a snapshot of the activities involved with this job:

  • Undertake heavy vehicle servicing and repairs in line with their service scheduling and repair request procedures.
  • Safe use of a forklift for moving and lifting heavy equipment and loading/unloading goods.
  • Safe use of heavy vehicles in the yard area.

Carry out all types of maintenance that may be required at any time, such as:

  • Repairs and maintenance.
  • Major component repairs.
  • Preventative maintenance.
  • Breakdown maintenance.
  • Small engine and pump repairs.
  • Roll molasses bags, load other liquids, and solid marble.
  • Fit Tyres
  • Work closely with the Workshop Manager and drivers on vehicle servicing schedules.
  • Record all required information regarding vehicle servicing by compliance requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all WH&S requirements.
  • Use of refrigeration license (optional) when required.
  • There are some weekend hours on a Saturday required every fortnightly.

About you:

Here are the skills and qualifications you'll need to be considered for this role:

  • Certificate III in Heavy Vehicle Commercial Mechanical Technology or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years experience as a diesel mechanic.
  • Current HR driver’s license.
  • Current Forklift license.
  • Demonstrate a high level of workplace health and safety awareness.
  • Possess a strong work ethic and be reliable.
  • Ability to comply with Company policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.
  • A refrigeration license would be highly regarded but not essential.
