ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Cumberland City Council are pleased to offer a Business Administration Traineeship in our Education and Care team. This position offers a combination of on-the-job work experience combined with the completion of a nationally recognised qualification through TAFE or a Registered Training Organisation (RTO). 

The Education and Care Support team play a critical business support function in supporting our high quality education and care services, comprising of 7 long day care services, 5 OOSH services and our Family Day Care scheme of registered educators. The team are looking for a passionate person to complete a Certificate III in Business Administration, to provide support and assistance to our intake processes and management of customer accounts.

The successful applicant will require:

  • Must be at least 16 years old
  • Exceptional interpersonal and written and oral communication, including report writing
  • Ability to manage a diverse range of tasks with competing priorities and changing deadlines
  • Possess administrative and organisational skills, including attention to detail, ability to maintain accurate records and skills in Microsoft Office.

Position information: This is a 12 month term contract, full-time position, working a 35 hour week, with access to Council's 9 day fortnight Rostered Day Off (RDO) arrangement.

This role is predominantly located at Council's Merrylands office, with occasional travel required across Council worksites, and may be required to work across any of Council’s work locations.

PLEASE NOTE: to be eligible for this traineeship, candidates must have Australian Citizenship or permanent residency and not have an existing Cert II qualification or higher. 

Salary information: The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with the NSW Local Government (State) Award.

  • Cumberland Trainee Salary Structure with a hourly rate from $19.12 to $23.32, plus 10.5% superannuation
  • The commencing salary will be negotiated, taking into consideration the successful applicant's qualifications, skills and experience related to the role
