About the position

CSL Australia is currently looking for permanent Deck Mechanics to join our Floating Offshore Transfer Barge (FOTB) – Spencer Gulf. This operation is based in Whyalla, South Australia, and will be a FIFO role. 

CSL Australia will organize, schedule, and pay for your travel costs, including flights and when required accommodation in any destination in Australia. 

The role of a Deck Mechanic is to provide effective maintenance of machinery. In addition, the Deck Mechanics will be responsible for:

  • Routine and preventative maintenance of the Vessel’s operating machinery;
  • Conducting safety checks of material handling equipment;
  • Adopting safe working practices;
  • Supervision of Deck Operators during routine maintenance tasks;
  • Any other basic mechanical work/engineering work;
  • Undertaking any other tasks assigned by the FOTB Manager, and any other cargo operation tasks as assigned by the FOTB Operations Manager.

Roster – Work-Life Balance

  • 6 weeks on 6 weeks off
