About the placement

This internship is with NextOre and is facilitated by the CSIRO’s Generation STEM Links program.

In this internship, you will have the opportunity to gain experience in a broad range of tasks. You will be working alongside experienced scientists to assist with sample preparation and testing while also coordinating with the broader team to assist with stocktake of vital equipment. You will get exposure to a range of parts and systems ultimately helping you to build knowledge of not only how to complete tests but the components that go into making the systems work.

Work arrangements

Start date: March 2024

Working arrangement: Part-time (2-3 days per week) for 200 hours on a fixed-term contract, with the possibility of further employment for the right candidate 

Remuneration: $25/hour plus super on a temporary contract with NextOre Ltd.

Location: Silverwater, NSW

Desired capabilities

  • Currently enrolled in a relevant Science degree, physics students preferred. 
  • Strong attention to detail and a passion for scientific discovery.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Flexibility to handle different and changing tasks.

Requirements

  • Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
  • Must be in your penultimate or final year of an undergraduate or TAFE qualification.
