About the placement

This internship is with AKD and is facilitated by the CSIRO’s Generation STEM Links program.

As an engineering intern working at AKD you will work with a dedicated team maintaining equipment including commissioning and decommissioning, QA testing, and various other processes. Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Mechatronics Engineering disciplines are all suitable for this role with opportunities to work across automated and mechanical equipment. Students with an interest in CAD can also utilise these skills. AKD employs a zero waste policy across the whole organisation.

Work arrangements

  • Start date: Winter OR Summer 2024
  • Working arrangement: Part-time or Full-time as agreed by student and AKD 
  • Remuneration: $25/h + super
  • Location: Tumut NSW
  • Accommodation support available for students outside of the region

Desired capabilities

  • In their penultimate to final year of a STEM degree or qualification.
  • A background in Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering
  • Ability to comprehend and translate complex problems.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and autonomously.
  • Technically minded and digitally literate.

Requirements

  • Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
  • Must be in your penultimate or final year of an undergraduate qualification.
