About the placement

This internship is with Emergent Group and is facilitated by the CSIRO’s Generation STEM Links program.

This position with Emergent Group would be suitable to a range of students studying STEM degrees and qualifications. You will work to develop engaging digital content for Emergent Group and its companies. The ideal candidate would be open to experimenting with A.I e.g. ChatGPT to understand how and where artificial intelligence can be applied within the organisation to develop communication materials. Students with an interest in media and/or digital design development are encouraged to apply as Emergent group are ready to provide mentoring for the right candidate.

Work arrangements

  • Start date: November 2023
  • Working arrangement: Part-time (full time considered) for a minimum of 200 hours 
  • Remuneration: $25/hour on a temporary contract with the Industry Partner.
  • Location: Mayfield West

Desired capabilities

  • In their penultimate to final year of a STEM degree or qualification.
  • A background in Science or Engineering is advantageous.
  • Creative mindset with the ability to translate technical concepts in an engaging way.
  • Experience with content management systems, WordPress desirable.
  • Ability to translate complex ideas into content for a broader audience.
  • Experience with/or willing to learning animation/video editing
  • An open mind, willing to try and experiment with new ideas.

Requirements

  • Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
  • Must be in your penultimate or final year of an undergraduate qualification.
