Plant Operator - TAFE Students Preferred null

MAIN DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Carry out daily inspections of machinery at start-up and documentation of any issues or repairs required
• Operate a variety of machinery including excavators, graders, bobcats, rollers and bulldozers
• Carry out bulk excavation, trenching and footing work as well as other aspects of civil construction works
• Ability to perform manual labour when required
• Liaise with the company Workplace Health & Safety (WH&S) Officer regarding any incidents or near misses
• Ability to operate GPS equipment
• Strong compliance with and knowledge of site safety rules and regulations
• Be aware at all times of ground personnel around plant movements
• Identify and rectify any site hazards or risks and notify the site supervisor or WH&S Officer
• Ensure a high level of communication and teamwork through direct communications and on-site meetings
• Ensure the safety and security of all plant machinery and tools on-site
• Maintain any necessary site documentation
• Ensure induction has been carried out prior to the commencement of any work
• Liaise with staff and contractors regarding compliance with site safety 
• Attend daily toolbox talks 
• Collate and send all paperwork, delivery dockets, etc to the office daily
• Ensure the site is clean and free from rubbish at all times
• Submit times and leave forms each week for payment of wages
