Community Carers NSW is an NDIS registered service provider, that offers a variety of services to people who live in the Sutherland and St George Region. We support people who have physical and/or intellectual disabilities to achieve their goals by using a person-centred approach.

Disability Support Workers are required, but not limited to providing domestic assistance, personal care, medication administration and assist with community and social activities.

We are rapidly expanding and looking for applicants who present the following essential criteria –

• A vibrant, patient, and positive approach to people and the world we live in
• Physical fitness with the capacity to meet the physical requirements of the job
• A willingness to learn for personal and professional growth, and to improve the lives of the people we support
• Ability to read receptive and expressive non-verbal communication
• Capacity to stay focused and remain calm whilst under pressure
• A Team Player who actively listens to co-workers respects their ideas and aims to collaborate and deliver the best possible outcomes with the people we support
• Non-essential criteria, preference will be given to candidates with the following –
• Previous experience in a similar role, and/or supporting people with behaviours of concern and/or high complex needs (e.g. ABI), or the passion and desire to do so
• Experience with manual handling and mobility issues
• Certificates in Disability/Community Services or those currently studying a course related to this work.

YOU MUST BE A PERMANENT AUSTRALIAN CITIZEN

Pre-employment requirements:

• Be Fully Covid-19 vaccinated
• Working with children's clearance
• NDIS worker Clearance
• Current 1st Aid and CPR Certificate
• Experience in a similar role (if not training is provided)
• Current Australian Driver’s License with a registered and reliable vehicle
• Phone with a plan and Internet Access
