About the role

Connecting Abilities is a fast-growing, innovative, and dynamic organisation. We are seeking Casual Disability Support Workers who have experience in supporting participants with highly complex behaviour. You will work in a Supported Independent Living (SIL) to provide people with highly complex support needs an opportunity to live in an environment that supports and maximises personal growth and independence.

About you

To be considered for this opportunity, you will need to have demonstrated experience providing support to participants with highly complex behaviour and have the following skills and attributes:

  • High challenging behaviour
  • Experienced with high physical/medical Support
  • Experience with highly challenging behaviours
  • Certificate III or higher in Disability, or Individual Support
  • Experience within the industry (eg. disability, mental health, aged care, individual support, community services or youth work etc.)
  • Clear and effective communication skills and the ability to establish a professional relationship with participant and their families
  • Experience in mental health
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in the record management
  • Flexibility to work over a 7-day roster and the availability to work overnight shifts or attend training or meetings as required
  • First Aid, CPR, Manual Handling, and Medication Administration training or willing to obtain one.
  • Current Open Driver’s License (mandatory).
