What are your thoughts on pay and bonuses at your company?
It's very good for an entry level but it wouldn't be a lot once you've got more experience in the IT area. It's not very competitive.

slightly lower than other positions

The pay and bonuses at the City is really good and I personally think for my level of experience, it would be hard to find a job that offers similar pay. I believe this may also be the reason so many officers have stayed at the City for so long.

I am remunerated well as a graduate.

They pay is very transparent which is good. We are getting a pay raise and back pay. With this in place I think the pay and benefits are rather fair for the role.

I was hoping I would have been able to participate in proper negotiations of rates of pay within the scale that was advertised prior to commencing the role, however I understand as a graduate position that my expectations are high for such a role.

In my Current Role Bonuses are not available. But workers can do overtime if they desire or if there is extra work to do.
Graduate, Gold Coast - 16 Jul 2024
Pay is above average for a graduate position, and the Certified Agreement ensures that the pay is increasing with CPI (or above). As it is government, there are no bonuses, however there can be opportunities to work overtime.

Unfortunately, as we are in the public sector, we don't get given perks like the ones listed, because we would be using rate payers' money. However, the flexibility of working hours and work from home is certainly one of the best perks offered at the City!

A 9-day fortnight, and the opportunity to bank up to 5 RDO's at a time to increase your leave. A gym is included in the social club, which is located in the office making it easy to do a workout before or after work, or even on your lunch break. Additionally, a fitness passport is available giving access to a range of gyms all over Australia.
