About the talent pool

We are establishing a talent pool of Spatial Professionals from entry-level positions to senior specialist positions currently available across the City of Gold Coast's Infrastructure Delivery Branch. The responsibilities of each of these positions will vary based on the experience of the successful candidates, but may include: 

  • Consult clients to establish survey project scope and conduct feasibility studies, master planning and reporting to ensure viability of survey projects
  • Provide cost and time frame estimation to carry out survey works
  • Liaise and negotiate with clients and consultants to vary project briefs to determine suitable and cost-effective business outcomes
  • Report on project performance to key stakeholders inclusive of variations, corrective actions, milestones, resources, time, cost, quality and benefits analysis
  • Provide specialist technical advice to the Infrastructure Delivery Branch, the Directorate and Council articulating concepts in ‘Plain English’, ensuring consistency and clarity of advice.
  • Provide advice on utilising advancements in survey technology to benefit project outcomes or to be used for risk management
  • Provide project support to external providers
  • Audit submitted works to ensure project requirements and specifications have been met and that CoGC guidelines have been adhered to
  • Audit and check the accuracy and suitability of internal and external design documents for constructability from a survey perspective
  • Contribute to the development of surveying documentation including surveying procedures and safety manuals for Quality Assurance and Workplace Health and Safety requirements.
  • Provide IT and software support for the Survey Services Unit
  • Provide governance in line with current legislative requirements and manage the Survey Services Quality Management System
  • Undertake minor, moderately complex and complex multi-disciplinary surveys for:
  • Engineering surveys including detail surveys for design purposes associated with Council assets, roads and infrastructure
  • Set out of design data for construction works
  • Capture as-constructed survey data for ADAC submission

About the Infrastructure Delivery Branch

The Infrastructure and Delivery Branch is a one-stop shop for all infrastructure requirements, which include, project management, engineering, drafting, design, construction, cost estimations, survey and material testing.

We implement the delivery of approximately 500 projects each year, including community facilities, roads and rehab, foreshores, bridges, footpaths, landscaping, parks, stormwater and drainage.

The Design Section within Infrastructure Delivery is Council’s in-house service provider for city planning, design, survey, specifications, estimating and materials testing. The Design Section provides the following services for most of the city’s infrastructure:

  • transportation, road works, bridges, car parks
  • flood mitigation, stormwater and environmental works
  • community infrastructure and buildings
  • streetscape works
  • sports and recreational facilities
  • water and sewerage works
  • waste management facilities
