What's on offer

This role will support the Natural Hazard Planning team to ensure our natural hazard mapping and City Plan requirements remain up-to-date, and risk is reduced at the interface between communities and the natural environment. This position will contribute to the development of fit-for-purpose natural hazard policy and its implementation in City Plan (including planning for bushfire, flood, coastal, and landslide hazards), to enhance the resilience of the Gold Coast. 

  • Support the development of a technically proficient understanding of natural hazard policy in broader land use planning contexts.
  • Contribute to the preparation of high-quality reports and briefings on natural hazard policy and land use planning issues.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of productive collaborations and relationships with key stakeholders within the Branch, across the Council Departments and external agencies.
  • Support the Natural Hazards team in various forums and delivering projects and programs.
