What’s on offer

Located within the Office of the Chief Investment Officer, the Economic Development & Tourism business unit is made up specialists who drive the economic growth of the City and facilitate major investments to create the best city in Australia to invest, live, work and visit.

The City has recently created the Gold Coast Film Commission. Working closely with the Screen Industry Adviser, the graduate will be focused on the attraction of new productions to the Gold Coast and further developing the capacity and capability within the film, television and gaming industries in the City. In addition to a focus on the screen industry, opportunities exist to work collaborate and cross train with other industry spacesuits in Tourism, Sport, Music, Technology and other targeted and high-value industry sectors across the Economic Development portfolio.

  • Liaise with film industry clients and customers to assist with the production deliverable documents and digital assets
  • Analyse and summarise scripts to prepare and maintain potential location presentations from the stills library and gallery
  • Provide creative input to presentations to attract productions to the city (i.e.: InDesign, PowerPoint, Photoshop)
  • Maintain and update the new Gold Coast Film Commission website (with in house IT support)
  • Maintain the production deliverables assets for Screen Attraction clients. (i.e. Contract management)
  • Assist with customer relationship management (including maintaining an active pipeline of potential productions), including documents for regular reporting
  • Liaise with customers and clients to prepare for industry events, workshops and conferences
  • Review contracts and agreements prepare post-event data and report
  • Assist the Screen Attraction Program with general business as required

Who can apply? 

To be considered for this opportunity you must hold a recognised degree or post graduate qualification from a tertiary institution, completed within the last two years or be completing prior to the commencement of the program in January 2024. Applicants must have full working rights in Australia for the duration of the program and be able to work full-time.

The Film and Screen Graduate position is recommended for but not limited to graduates who have studied Bachelor of Business, Film, Screen, Media Production, Visual Arts – with a strong interest in the screen sector.
