ABOUT THE ROLE

This position is accountable for the provision of high quality financial services and support, specifically customer focussed accounts payable (AP) and receivable (AR) services (including international student payments and refunds).

The role is responsible for ensuring that the Institute's invoices and payments are processed efficiently in compliance with relevant Institute processes, policies and procedures and for raising invoices, receipting payments, debt recovery and month end reconciliation and reporting.

Your key accountabilities will include:

  • Performing the day-to-day processing of accounts payable transactions to ensure that Institute finances are maintained in an effective, up to date and accurate manner.
  • Undertaking high quality financial services for stakeholders, including raising invoices, receipting payments, debt recovery, and month end reconciliation and reporting.
  • Working with the Financial Accountant to ensure that processes, policies and procedures relating to the accounts payable and receivable functions are continually developed and maintained to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Maintaining a customer-focused approach towards the achievement of the business area’s objectives to ensure high customer satisfaction.
  • Providing advice, interpretation, and training as required on accounts receivable to the business area and other staff.

ABOUT YOU

You will have a diploma level qualification in Accounting or a related discipline with relevant work related experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training, along with the following:

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar position with excellent client services and interpersonal skills, including the ability to deal effectively with clients by phone, email and in person.
  • Proven organisational skills, ability to prioritise workload, meet deadlines and demonstrate flexibility in dealing with competing demands.
  • Ability to exercise judgment and to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
  • Be self-motivated and be able to work as part of a cohesive team.
  • Ability to cope with change and willingness to learn new systems and procedures
