Support Worker - TAFE Students Preferred null

Child Care Services Taree & Districts Inc. provide support to children, parents and families who are NDIS participants in the Taree, Nabiac, Forster and Gloucester area. We focus on the participant's strengths and aim to develop and build on their existing skills. Supports provided in self-care, community access and develop independent living skills both in home and in the community. We support children between 0 and 7 who have NDIS plans under Early Childhood Supports, children over 7 years and parents with a current NDIS plan. 

Essentials 

• Certificate 111 in Disability, Cert 111 in Early Childhood or other Community Services Certificate, working towards or willing to obtain.
• Effective communication with the ability to build strong connections and relationships with people.
• An understanding of disability
• Ability to use initiative, to work independently or as a part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Reliability and flexibility with working hours of mornings, afternoons and weekend supports.
• 18 years of age or older
• Current First Aid Certificate and CPR qualifications (HLTAID012)
• Current NSW Driver's License and own a vehicle with comprehensive car insurance.
• Willingness to undertake ongoing training.

Desirable Critera: 

• Experience supporting people from Aboriginal and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse backgrounds.
• Experience in the delivery of personal care services and/or challenging behaviors.

As a contracted support worker:

• You will be provided with the necessary tools to assist you in the establishment of your own business.
• You will be supported and supervised by CCSTD team to work independently in the community to achieve the goals of the participant.
• You will be provided with on going training
