About Us

Chefs On The Run find work for Chefs, Cooks, Food Service Assistants, Kitchen hands and Waiters throughout Sydney, Canberra and regional NSW

For more than 30 years Chefs On The Run has been building strong relationships with thousands of clients in all areas of hospitality, tourism & catering. We currently have work on offer in Hospitality venues including Hotels, Pubs, Restaurants, Resorts and with Caterers - both large & small. We also have a lot of opportunities with Aged Care & Health and Child Care clients and for those interested in big hours, with clients in the Mining & Industrial sector (predominantly FIFO).

We are a family-owned business and pride ourselves on taking a personal approach with all of our employees and contractors as well as our clients. You’ll get to know all the members of our friendly operations team – and we will get to know you and your preferences and requirements too. If you’re tired of being treated ‘like a number’, you really should give us a try.

We are Looking for Staff with more than 15 hours per week availability, and we can give you the industry experience you need while you are studying your craft.
Apprentice chefs can work as Food Service Assistants and see what the industry is like without having an Apprenticeship.

What You Can Expect

  • Above award Casual rates offered +Shift Penalties + Super + O/T Rates with no Cap on Maximum Hours.
  • Flexible Hours - longer contracts (travel & accommodation paid) for Regional / Remote gigs across Australia.
  • Large range of Restaurants, Clubs, Catering, Health & Aged Care sites

Qualifications & Experience

  • Chefs must have Min. Cert 3 Commercial Cookery and 5 years of experience post qualification
  • Trade Cooks must have Cert 3 or 10 years Commercial Kitchen Experience
  • Apprentice chefs don't need any experience to work as a Food service assistant
  • All staff Must have/obtain Current Food Handling or Food Safety Supervisor Certificates
  • All staff Must have or be willing to obtain a Current police check (specifying Unsupervised with Vulnerable People)
  • Must be COVID Vaccinated and Have a current Flu shot if you’re interested in Aged Care & Health roles only.
