CASS Care Ltd is a multi-disciplined community services provider, with "CASS", as our brand name, which is commonly known in the community. We are active in the provision of a comprehensive range of social welfare services, catering the needs from cradle to seniors, including residential aged care, home ageing, settlement and health, vocational and training, disability services, child care and many more community-based services. We are currently looking for a motivated and committed Diploma Trainee to join our team.

Position Summary:

CASS Gumnut Early Learning Centre – Campsie is a community-based long day care centre operated by CASS Care Ltd. It caters for 96 children from 0 to 12 years old. The successful candidate will be undergoing the Diploma in Early Childhood and Education whilst gaining paid hands-on practical experience to work with children and caring to their needs. With the support from an experienced Director, this would be a great opportunity to further professional development which may lead to new opportunities and roles within our child care services.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Build positive and caring relationships with the children and their families;
  2. Apply the pedagogical knowledge and expertise to ensure the individual needs of all children are met;
  3. Demonstrated knowledge of Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Standards;
  4. Comply with the relevant government regulations;
  5. Create a supportive, stimulating and secure learning environment for the children under care;
  6. Assist with the observing, documenting, interpreting and evaluating the children's progress;
  7. Assist with the planning and programming of an outstanding educational program for our children;
  8. Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Selection Criteria:

Essential

  • Undergoing Diploma of Early Childhood Education & Care;
  • Current First Aid, Asthma and Anaphylaxis Management Training certificates;
  • Good command of spoken and written English;
  • Be creative, energetic, caring and passionate about supporting children's learning, skills and development;
  • Have positive and a can do attitude;
  • Commitment to working as a team;
  • Hold valid police check certificate and Working with Children Check;
  • Must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident.

Desirable

  • Experience in working with children;
  • Ability to plan and create engaging, age appropriate activities;
  • Good computer literacy.

Salary and employment conditions for the above position is as per Enterprise Agreement. Salary packaging available. Discount child care is available at long day care, before and after school care and vacation care services operated by our organisation.
