Calida is a boutique, commercial construction company specialising in high-end retail & hospitality fitouts and refurbishments. Since it's inception in 2008, Calida has worked with many well known architects, designers, hoteliers, retailers and restauranteurs over a range of projects nationally in Australia & New Zealand.

Qualifications & experience

  • Suitable trade qualification or tertiary degree
  • Minimum one (1) years site carpentry experience
  • Knowledge in fit-out, refurbishment and construction
  • Good level of understanding of services.
  • Basic computer skills – Microsoft Office
  • Basic use of Microsoft Project preferred
  • Driver's Licence

Tasks & responsibilities

  • To work closely with the Calida site management team in a supportive role to ensure quality, programme and constructability
  • To work closely with the Project Team to carry out any physical works and manage all aspects of a project from inception through to occupation in various project sectors.
  • Liaising with supervisors to provide direction and support to workers so as to achieve set goals and maximise profit and efficiency.
  • Assisting with coordination, management and scheduling of particular activities to ensure that equipment and resources are efficiently utilised to meet production outcomes.
  • Acting as a mediator between workers and management, undertaking safety and hazard assessments and ensuring employees comply with OHS requirements.
  • Knowledge and understanding of work health safety requirements, industry standards and compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Sound ability to identify the needs of construction operations and their team that enables all on-site requirements to be delivered and achieved on time continually, to the satisfaction of both internal and external clients.
  • Builds professional business relationships internally and externally and undertakes learning and development as and if required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work either individually or with a team of people using interpersonal skills in a multicultural workforce.
