Betty Spears Child Care Centre is a long-established, well-respected community-based, not-for-profit long daycare centre located in Tempe, close to the station. The Centre is licensed for 56 children per day. ACECQA Recognised Qualifications and Experience:

  • ACECQA recognised qualifications and experience – Early Childhood Teaching degree or equivalent and accreditation with NESA
  • Current First Aid, Asthma and Anaphylaxis certificate.
  • Current Working with Children Check (NSW).
  • Experience developing and implementing meaningful and engaging curricula for children from birth to 5 years of age
  • Proven ability to work with others and collaborate in a team approach to curriculum development
  • Demonstrated a high level of understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Standards (NQS) and contemporary approaches to early childhood curriculum and pedagogy
  • Experience and passion for working in an Early Childhood setting

Job Summary:

You would have a passion to work with children across our programs from infants to preschool and a willingness to support and work cooperatively with others. You would be capable of planning, implementing and documenting a learning program that is responsive to children’s interests, while providing challenges and ensuring their developmental and emotional needs are being met. You would have good communication skills and can establish and maintain strong connections and relationships with children, their families and other members of the team. You would be able to implement, practice and deliver on the policies, procedures and philosophy of the centre. You would have a knowledge of and interest in learning about current approaches and theories (eg Bowlby, Circle of Security, Reggio Emilia Approach and Education for Sustainability etc). A commitment to ongoing personal and professional development would be supported at the centre. As an early childhood teacher, you would be available to support, collaborate and mentor a team of educators.
Educational Leader – For experienced teachers, we are also seeking expressions of interest for the pedagogical leader role in our centre. This role would allow you to mentor and guide all of the educators at the centre.
