Our small, close-knit team (4 advisers and 2 support staff) provides personal, dedicated advice and planning. Many clients have been working with our principal adviser for 3 decades. 

We are looking for someone who is driven to:

About the role

We are looking for a Trainee Paraplanner/Financial Adviser to join our team to work closely with our Advisers in developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients. 

You will provide administrative and technical assistance in delivering a range of financial services to clients. The main responsibilities are:

  • Maintain client records, accounts, and investments in Xplan,
  • Source information on financial products such as superannuation, pensions, investment accounts, insurances, etc,
  • Prepare notes and documentation for client meetings,
  • Implement recommendations including investment transactions across a range of listed securities, fixed interest securities, term deposits and managed funds along with payments to and from client bank accounts,
  • Prepare and process applications and other paperwork,
  • Answer client queries via telephone and email,
  • Planning, coordinating, and tracking workflow,
  • Assistance with onboarding new clients and developing working relationships with them,
  • Various projects aimed at business improvement,
  • General administration and data entry.

Skills and experience 

  • You are completing studies in financial planning (or a related degree) or have career aspirations to work as a financial adviser,
  • Attention to detail and accuracy,
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written,
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks,
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently,
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.

Our Trainee Paraplanner/Financial Adviser role is office based and a full-time position. We are a flexible workplace with a strong work/life balance culture including providing 10 paid Rostered Days Off per annum.  Most lunchtimes are spent walking along the beach or swimming and we always finish work at 5pm!
