Your role

Bringing the most cutting-edge physical and digital technologies together to create oilfield equipment is the beating heart of our work. Devising smarter systems that control and monitor oil and gas extraction, their subsea and surface-pressure capabilities are industry-leading and commercially innovative.

As a Mechanical Apprenticeship, you will be responsible for:

  • Applying safe work practices for self and others at all times
  • Inspecting drilling and subsea equipment and identify wear and faults
  • Repairing and refurbishing drilling and subsea equipment to specified standards
  • Identifying defects, faults or wear that require engineering inspection.
  • Carrying out inspections and routine maintenance tasks on shop equipment. Correct and safe use of hand and power tools
  • Interpreting technical drawings and procedures

Training & development 

The apprenticeship program of Baker Hughes aims to develop your skills and abilities through on-the-job experience and knowledge-based learning. On completion of the program, you will be qualified for Certificate III level in Mechanical Engineering. You will be working in an international organization and will learn and develop with collaborative and inspiring apprentices.
