Your role

The Baker Hughes internship is designed to provide undergraduate students pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree with hands-on work experience as the foundation of their professional careers. Baker Hughes internships give students first-hand insights into the processes, systems, and practices that are aligned with ensuring customer needs are met through flawless execution and the application of leading-edge technology.

The Baker Hughes HS&E internship provides students with the opportunity to become familiar with Health, Safety, and Environment (HS&E) practices in the energy industry. Interns participate in technically focused training, team meetings, and projects, and present their results at the end of their internship. Throughout their internship, interns are supported by a buddy and a manager who ensure that they have a valuable learning experience.

As an Intern, you will be:

  • Receiving coaching and mentoring to enable you to complete assignments and projects to develop your learning and skillset
  • Completing internal projects to deliver customer outcomes and identify business improvements
  • Learning internal software to assist with the completion of projects and tasks
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams and interns to interact and network with global business leaders
  • Applying Health, Safety and Environment (HS&E) standards and procedures in all situations to ensure compliance is maintained
  • As an intern within the structural integrity group of Quest Integrity's Advanced Engineering business, you will assist with preparing 3D models for Finite Element Analysis, generating calculation spreadsheets for fracture mechanics analysis, and writing scripts to automate repetitive assessments
