Please describe the interview process and assessments.
Interview process was fine The issue was HR took 4 months to get back to me about the job i had applied for then excluded me from the acceptance of the job ultimately leading to a lot of miscommunication between employers and placed me in a very uncomfortable situation by not including me in discussions that I should have been the primary point of contact in.

The first interview I had was a phone screening interview with an HR member from Babcock Australia. It was a quick phone call interview which lead to another interview not too long after, with members of the Engineering team leads for the local Devonport Base.

The interview process seemed very well planned and thought out. It was a multi stage process that involved an initial over the phone interview, then a health assessment, and finally an in person assessment which included group activities and a 1 on 1 interview.

After an initial screening there will be a 1 on 1 phone call asking questions about how you would react in certain situations. If successful there will be an interview in person, This interview consists of 2 group tasks and a 1 on 1 meeting. The group tasks are looking for communication skills within a team and your creative skills. If successful, you will then receive an offer.
Graduate, Sydney - 11 Apr 2023
The interview process was good as the time between being contacted regarding the job and participating in an online interview was short. I was also kept in the loop which I appreciated. I also found the information I was provided regarding the role and what to expect was extensive and really helped me prepare for what to expect.

Do you have any specific tips and advice for candidates applying to your company? How would you recommend they best prepare?
Be yourself and be prepared to engage with other candidates in fun assessments and employees of Babcock

Have some questions you would like to know about what your role may entail, or anything about the company that you would like to know about. It would be helpful to do some background research about the company so you can find something that interests you, and you can talk about that during the interview. You could ask the interviewers about what they enjoy the most about their role and working for the company. Ask about what the day to day responsibilities look like for your role.

Be yourself. Make sure you understand material/part failure modes and corrosion at a basic level if you wish to be involved in the marine space. Practice interviews
Graduate, Adelaide - 12 Apr 2023
I would say that they prepare on project management and projects they worked on. More than anything I would say presence of mind and positive attitude could help a lot during the process.
Graduate, Auckland - 11 Apr 2023
While the skills and academic side are important, I would say that Babcock looks for people who work well with others and would be a good culture fit, so I would keep that in mind and not focus solely on the technical aspects of the role.
Graduate, Adelaide - 11 Apr 2023
Communication skills will be a main point of focus for the in person interview.
