Your role:

You won't find this job listed anywhere else. In this dynamic and challenging role as an Electronic Spectrum Systems Operator (known in the Navy as Electronic Warfare Systems Operator), you'll use sophisticated electronic warfare technology to provide vital support to Command. By detecting, identifying and locating a threat within the ship's vicinity, you'll aid in reducing the possibility of an enemy attack.

You'll work in the operations room as part of the intelligence support team and the core warfighting capabilities onboard. Here you'll learn how to operate, exploit and defend the electromagnetic spectrum in an extremely complex technical environment. As an Operator, you'll form an integral part of a highly trained, internationally respected maritime force.

Prior experience isn't needed for this role. You'll gain all the necessary skills and qualifications to become an Electronic Spectrum Systems Operator as part of your training.

Life in the Navy:

A career in the Navy is a challenging yet highly rewarding working environment that comes with a good work/life balance, competitive salary and skills for life. Life in the Navy is anything but mundane. You'll enjoy varied lifestyles, rewarding careers, opportunities to travel, and excellent social and fitness facilities, free medical and dental; all in a dynamic and fulfilling working environment.

Don't worry, it's not all life at sea—there's more to the Navy than ships, submarines and helicopters. Some days, you might be exploring exciting new countries with your fellow crewmates. Other days, you could be stationed locally not too far from home.

Salary:

Be paid to train and upon completion of your initial military and initial employment training, you'll enjoy a competitive starting salary package from $73,253, including service and uniform allowances. You will also receive a maritime allowance when serving on ships.

In addition to your salary, you will receive generous superannuation, housing subsidies and free medical and dental care.
