If you’re seeking an education career that offers more variety and challenges than your standard teaching role, the potential to travel, plus excellent development opportunities, then this could be the role for you.

Your role:

The Army provides some of the best military training in the world. That’s why we’re looking for quality educators to join our team to induct and train our personnel.

As an Education Officer, you’ll be tasked with teaching the next generation of Army soldiers. Your tasks will vary from developing educational policies, implementing and assessing these policies, educating Officer Cadets, conducting courses through distance education, and much more.

You’ll have the opportunity to travel and work in a range of environments that you wouldn’t get anywhere else—such as Army Headquarters, Learning Production Centres, Royal Military College – Duntroon, Defence Training Centres, and even overseas.

As an Officer, you’ll lead a team of education professionals like yourself, providing advice and mentorship, while continuing to gain unparalleled skills that you can use anywhere.

Training:

With your Education qualifications, the Defence Force will teach you all the skills you require through leadership and military training at the Royal Military College, Duntroon – Canberra. This initial training is 42 days.

Following your initial training, you’ll attend other military courses to enhance your skills and you can also further your professional qualifications with the assistance of Army sponsorship schemes.

Salary:

In the Army, you'll get paid a competitive salary of $85,051 per annum plus a generous 16.4% super from day one regardless of your age, experience or qualifications.

Location:

You’ll get to take advantage of the many opportunities to see more of Australia and the world. Following your initial military training in Canberra you could be posted to one of many major base locations around Australia, as well as at Training Establishments in regional areas. It’s not possible to guarantee a specific posting location for the duration of your service, therefore you must be willing to relocate.

Life in the Army:

Action, adventure, exciting career opportunities and amazing mateship—there’s so much to love about life in the Army. Whether you’re looking to pick up a new skill, get qualified with fully paid training or are up for a new challenge, you’ll find it all in the Army.

Not to mention there’s also the sense of accomplishment and pride that comes from serving your country and providing support to communities in need, both here and overseas.

This is no ordinary job—but that’s exactly what you’re looking for. Enjoy a rewarding career, opportunities to travel, excellent fitness facilities, and free medical and dental; all in a dynamic and fulfilling work environment.

Apply now:

For this role, you must be an Australian citizen and able to successfully obtain a security clearance.

You must also:

Hold a teaching degree (either Bachelor or Master’s). Full registration as a teacher in Australia and recency of practice within a five-year period of registration is highly desirable.

Meet the minimum medical and fitness requirements (further details can be accessed via the link below).
