About Austal

  • Over 5,000 Austal employees currently benefit from a corporate culture that supports a safe, modern and secure working environment. Austal offers flexible working conditions, including a four-day-week for our trade workforce and a nine-day-fortnight for our professional staff. • In Australia, defence vessels are designed, constructed and sustained at Austal Australia’s Henderson, Western Australia facility. In addition, Austal Australia operates service centres in Darwin in the Northern Territory and Cairns in Queensland.
  • Austal Australia delivers the full lifecycle of support services to customers, from acquisition to sustainment and beyond; managing the design and construction of each vessel from start to finish. This provides excellent opportunities within design, production and support services for our highly skilled staff to utilise their talents and develop themselves and our teams, further.
