Ashurst Seasonal Clerkships:
The aim of our seasonal clerkships is to expose you to as much real work as possible, to help you to make an informed decision about whether this is the right firm for you.
For that reason, we'll allocate you a supervisor who can explain their work to you, include you in meetings and conference calls, and give you tasks to tackle. You will also have a buddy who will help you settle in and navigate around the firm. The secret to a good clerkship is to absorb everything while you spend time in one practice area.
There's also a chance to get involved in understanding other practice areas through workshops, team-building events to understand how we work together, and social events to get to know our teams away from the bustle of daily life.
Applications:
We are accepting applications for our 2022/23 seasonal clerkships in our Brisbane office until 12 August 2022 (AEST 5.00 pm).
Students must be in their penultimate or final year to be eligible. You also need to have Australian citizenship or be a permanent resident at the time of application.

Some of the technology used by the firm is outdated and needs to be modernised
Being an international firm means that sometimes general decisions are made that do not provide the best outcomes locally.
The hours can fluctuate but this is usually market driven.
Hours can sometimes be long, but rarely have they been unreasonable.
Due to the nature of working at a top-tier, high-performing law firm, the hours can be quite long and taxing as well as the balance of life and work commitments.
