Your role

The Graduate Solicitor (Commercial) will be a member of the Aon Law Division reporting to the Senior Corporate Counsel (Commercial). The Contract Paralegal will provide professional support to the Senior Corporate Counsel (Commercial) and a team involving primarily commercial and transactional legal services.

What your day will look like:

  • Drafting and revising commercial contracts including but not limited to service level agreements, supplier agreements, partnering and association agreements, and confidentiality agreements.
  • Applying established contract terms and guidance and making accurate decisions and recommendations on contracting positions.
  • Assisting brokers, clients, and markets in resolving issues related to contract wordings.
  • Reviewing commercial documentation and related correspondence for completeness, accuracy, and consistency.
  • Contributing to and maintaining a library of contract clauses.
  • Monitoring statutory positions, regulatory guidelines, judicial decrees, current wording issues, and industry trends affecting Aon's contracting risk tolerance.
  • Ongoing administration and variation of contracts.
  • Building collaborative and productive working relationships with colleagues and other stakeholders within and outside Aon.
  • Communicating legal requirements, processes, and procedures effectively to the Business.
  • Good time management and interpersonal skills.
  • Positively and robustly promoting Aon’s values and leadership model.

About you

Skills and experience that will lead to success:

  • Soon to be qualified or newly qualified Bachelor of Laws Degree or paralegal studies
  • Prior experience as a solicitor or significant experience as a paralegal in-house or at a law firm
  • Demonstrating a track record of success, you will be curious, keen to learn, and eager to challenge the status quo with fact-based recommendations.
  • Maintaining and holding strong relationships with colleagues, management, and external advisers.
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to analyse and discern issues, risks, and solutions.
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately and manage multiple engagements, processes, and competing priorities simultaneously.
