About the role:

Reporting to the Settlements Manager, you will be supporting the end to end delivery of Electricity, Gas, Environmental, Treasury, Future and OTC trades, ensuring transactions are reconciled, recorded and settled in the general ledger.

Additional responsibilities will include: 

•  Validating trades details between parties & the trading system and creating contracts for settlement
• Reviewing and interpreting new contracts to ensure settlement deliverables and timing
• Preparing Receivable invoices for counterparties and validating Payable invoices for posting in the general ledger
• Performing end-of-month activities, including accruals for open trades, intercompany transactions, commissions and interest
• Partnering with Alinta Energy’s Trading, Accounting, Risk and IT teams to ensure accurate and timely information and delivery of settlements

To be successful you will have: 

• Highly developed communication skills and the ability to build strong business relationships
• Degree in Commerce, Economics or relevant discipline
• Demonstratable ability of analytical and critical thinking, strong attention to detail
• Willingness to learn new skills and concepts within finance and the energy industry
• Ability to think independently, prioritising tasks to meet business deadlines
