From the moment you join Alcoaโ€™s Vacation Student program, you will be given the opportunity to practically apply what youโ€™ve learnt so far in your university studies, setting you on a career path that takes you far and beyond what youโ€™ve ever imagined. During your summer 12-week paid placement, you will grow professionally, expand technically, and become part of our community where you will be inspired and challenged daily.

With best-in-class bauxite mining and rehabilitation practices, the lowest-carbon alumina refining system on the planet, game-changing innovations in aluminium smelting, and the industryโ€™s most comprehensive portfolio of low-carbon products, Alcoa is working to reinvent the aluminium industry for a sustainable future, and we want you to join us!

Throughout the program, you will be paired with a senior specialist that will provide you with hands-on training, mentoring, and coaching to support you in becoming a creative problem solver, helping you towards completing the meaningful projects that you will be assigned.

I love going out into the field and watching a design I created to be executed to plan and hopefully look similar to how it did on the computer.

Learn how to view your past experiences as learning opportunities, especially when responding to selection criteria and interview questions. It is really useful to have thought about how the different things you have done have prepared you to handle future situations.
