Job Description

The Role

Reporting to the  Mine Geologist, the Graduate Mine Geologist will be assisting the Mine Geology team by providing support to the mine operations to collect, interpret and report on geological conditions in a safe and efficient manner. Your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Daily functions of the Mine Geology team, including production duties (mapping and sampling)
  • Conduct geological & structural interpretation and modelling.
  • Assist in the coordination of geological inputs and participate in mine planning functions.
  • Ensure accurate and timely grade reconciliation monthly.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental procedures and standards.
  • Commit to maintaining health, safety and security standards and principles.

About You

  • Tertiary qualifications in Geology
  • Experience using Microsoft Office and 3D modelling packages (Desirable).
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Manual Drivers Licence

The Operation

Tritton Copper Operations employs more than 450 people and is located in Hermidale in Western New South Wales.  Tritton has two underground copper mines (Tritton and Murrawombie) and is forecast to produce more than 21,000 tonnes in FY2022.  

Tritton is a key employer within the region and a proud supporter of the community.  We are a residential mine that allows you to be home each night to either Cobar or Nyngan.  Accommodation support is provided as well as company transport from both towns to the operation.  Both Nyngan and Cobar are family-friendly communities, with a variety of shops, gyms, and sporting activities as well as primary and high schools.
