Delivering a better world.

At AECOM we’re driven by a common purpose to deliver a better world. Our clients count on us to think without limits and we partner with them on projects spanning transportation, buildings, water, governments, public realm, energy and the environment, to build legacies for generations to come.

The Role

Our focus is providing GIS and data management expertise on large environmental and infrastructure projections, as well as developing systems – such as mobile data capture, creation of toolsets for analysis or data analysis platforms – so other AECOM disciplines can carry out their work.

As a GIS Graduate you will work across a multitude of business lines such as Transport, Environment, Water and Building & Places to assist the teams across Queensland in finding, managing analyzing or visualizing spatial data.

These tasks can include: Data capture, management, analysis and validation; Data conversion and integration; Map production; Spatial and 3D analysis; Design and build spatial and non-spatial databases; Use of coding, automation and technology to efficiently deliver workflows and provide innovation into projects; Meeting with internal clients to determine GIS requirements.

Graduates – with their fresh thinking and passion for reimagining what’s possible – are critical to our success. We are excited to be seeking applicants from a wide range of disciplines, including civil, electrical, environmental, mechanical, structural and building services, as well as design, planning and program and cost management fields. Ideas have no borders and this ethos is embedded in our culture. As a graduate, you will have the chance to work alongside like-minded professionals and industry leaders on iconic projects that help shape and connect our cities and communities.

Minimum Requirements

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated time management and organisational skills
  • A strong sense of commitment, a willingness to learn, and a desire to work in a dynamic deadline-driven environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree (or higher) Spatial Data, Data Science or GIS Degree

I decided to study engineering because I always enjoyed problem-solving and finding out how things work, so engineering seemed like the natural thing to study.
