Delivering a better world.

At AECOM weโ€™re driven by a common purpose to deliver a better world. Our clients count on us to think without limits and we partner with them on projects spanning transportation, buildings, water, governments, public realm, energy and the environment, to build legacies for generations to come.

The Role

From flood protection to nutrient control to desalination, AECOMโ€™s goal is to ensure that our water clients have access to globally sustainable technologies, locally delivered. Our professionals work in and across the major markets to deliver comprehensive solutions that safeguard human health and the environment. Balancing the worldโ€™s need for safe, reliable water with protecting this critical natural resource for the future requires a deep understanding of interconnected systems.

Water Resources Engineers primarily work in the areas of hydrology and hydraulics to support infrastructure design, and develop business solutions for clients. As a Water Resources Engineer, you will be involved in flood studies, drainage design, stormwater management, mine water management, water yield assessments, and a range of water naturalisation projects. You will use digital technologies such as flood modelling and GIS to support analysis. Water resources work helps to manage flood risk for our communities, ensure infrastructure is resilient to flooding, and reduce our impact on the environment.

Graduates โ€“ with their fresh thinking and passion for reimagining whatโ€™s possible โ€“ are critical to our success. We are excited to be seeking applicants from a wide range of disciplines, including civil, electrical, environmental, mechanical, structural and building services, as well as design, planning and program and cost management fields. Ideas have no borders and this ethos is embedded in our culture. As a graduate, you will have the chance to work alongside like-minded professionals and industry leaders on iconic projects that help shape and connect our cities and communities.

  • Demonstrated time management and organisational skills
  • A strong sense of commitment, a willingness to learn, and a desire to work in a dynamic deadline-driven environment
