  • To work closely with the research and development team to deliver advice on manufacturing methods for new concepts. 
  • To manufacture components for prototyping and then build the prototypes for testing.
  • To ensure all designs are scale able and manufacturable. 
  • Develop engineering scopes in projects and specification documents.
  • Document designs including 3D modelling, manufacturing drawings, process specifications, DFMEA and risk assessments.
  • Question the norm to drive continuous improvement of equipment, products and processes being used.
  • Work effectively in a team environment interacting with peer engineers, research, and quality. 
  • Develop of product & site support literature. 

Hiring criteria

You should have or be completing the following to apply for this opportunity.

Trade Certificate in Fitting and Turning or Toolmaking.
Work experience
• Sound understanding of a wide range of manufacturing processes. • Understanding of value management, project management and business management practices. • An understanding of drawing standards and GDT tolerancing. • An understanding of metrology and the ability to use and operate a CMM machine is advantageous. • 3D CAD modelling advantageous. • Ability to be hands-on with building prototypes and using dedicated test equipment to evaluate prototypes. • Basic understanding of electrical theory is advantageous. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills that will enable effective. communication with all levels of the business. • Positive, proactive mindset.
