To work closely with the research and development team to deliver advice on manufacturing methods for new concepts.
To manufacture components for prototyping and then build the prototypes for testing.
To ensure all designs are scale able and manufacturable.
Develop engineering scopes in projects and specification documents.
Document designs including 3D modelling, manufacturing drawings, process specifications, DFMEA and risk assessments.
Question the norm to drive continuous improvement of equipment, products and processes being used.
Work effectively in a team environment interacting with peer engineers, research, and quality.
Develop of product & site support literature.
Hiring criteria
You should have or be completing the following to apply for this opportunity.
Trade Certificate in Fitting and Turning or Toolmaking.
Work experience
• Sound understanding of a wide range of manufacturing processes.
• Understanding of value management, project management and business management practices.
• An understanding of drawing standards and GDT tolerancing.
• An understanding of metrology and the ability to use and operate a CMM machine is advantageous.
• 3D CAD modelling advantageous.
• Ability to be hands-on with building prototypes and using dedicated test equipment to evaluate prototypes.
• Basic understanding of electrical theory is advantageous.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills that will enable effective. communication with all levels of the business.
• Positive, proactive mindset.
