Opportunity Expired
We’re currently looking for people who can represent community views to join the Ad Standards Community Panel. Community Panel members come from all walks of life – representative of the diversity of Australian society.
The Community Panel considers complaints made about ads on all media. Community Panel members work together to decide if an advertiser has broken the rules that are in place to ensure ads are responsible - aligning with community standards.
Each Community Panel member attends about 10 - 12 meetings a year. Most meetings are via video conference, which means you can attend from anywhere in Australia.
There is a modest payment for each meeting and travel expenses will be met for any face-to-face meetings that take place in Sydney (3 - 4 times a year).
Membership of the Community Panel is on an individual basis and members do not represent any industry, consumer, or special interest group.
No experience is needed and training is provided.
Who should apply?
The Community Panel is not a team of advertising or legal experts. If you enjoy working as part of a diverse team, have an interest in advertising, and believe that you can represent community views and standards, then we'd love to hear from you.
Ad Standards values diversity. First Nations people, individuals from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, gender and sexuality diverse people are especially encouraged to apply.
To apply, send us a short statement (no more than a page) that tells us:
Applications close at midnight Friday 9 September and should be sent to administration@adstandards.com.au
